12th January 2022, Albourne, UK – EcoVadis, the universal provider of business sustainability ratings, has awarded Technetix with a Silver Medal in recognition of its continuing improvements in sustainability.
Over 85,000 organisations worldwide partner with EcoVadis on sustainability using a common platform, universal scorecard, benchmarks and performance improvement tools. EcoVadis performs an annual review of eligible companies across four areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
The silver medal is only awarded to those in the top 25%. Technetix’ 2021 performance was rated as advanced and in the top 10% of all companies and the top 7% for its industry.
“We are proud that our efforts to continuously improve our sustainability performance are being recognised. Everyone at Technetix is committed to working responsibly to help our customers also reach their sustainability goals, to support our people and those around us and to help create a better future in all of the communities in which we operate” says Paul Broadhurst, Chief Executive Officer, Technetix Group Ltd.
In 2021 Technetix introduced new policies, training and ways of working to engage their employees and develop their sustainability performance. Data is collected for all aspects of their environmental, social and ethical performance and they have published their first Corporate Social Responsibility report.
Working with their customers, single-use plastic packaging was removed from 256 products, preventing 7 tons of plastic entering the waste stream and environment each year. This initiative will continue and will grow as more opportunities are identified and new and more sustainable packaging solutions are developed.
Technetix also became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact in 2021, demonstrating their commitment to operate responsibly and in alignment with universal sustainability principles. The UN Global Compact asks companies to align their operations and strategies to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were set up to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice and protect our planet.
In 2022 Technetix will continue to develop new strategies and processes to improve its sustainability performance even further.
