The RPS-UNI is a 1.2 GHz universal redundant power supply chassis offered in a 230 VAC, 120 VAC and a 48 VDC version. It has four slots for hot swappable power supply modules. Depending on the power supply placed in the slot, the RPS-UNI can provide different DC output voltages per section. Output voltages can be selected from 15 VDC, 24 VDC or 48 VDC. Output power can be selected from 60W up to 140W. Redundancy is at the input and at the output. By plugging in 1 to 4 AC/DC or DC/DC converters you gain maximum flexibility from your headend powering.
The RPS-UNI has two power supply sections: A and B which are both redundant. Modules 1 and 2 are for section A and modules 3 and 4 for section B. Section A and B can use modules with different output voltages, but the input voltage must be the same (120VAC, 230VAC or 48VDC). Cooling is arranged through three fully controlled internal fans with air flow from front to back and bottom to top. With its 1.5 RU housing, the RPS-UNI uses little rack space and can be placed in a standard 19 inch cabinet. Redundancy overload protection is built-in and provides a visual indication on the front panel and an SNMP trap if used with the Technetix Narrowcast solution. Monitoring of the fans and output voltages can be done via external connections and an SNMP trap if used with the Technetix Narrowcast solution.
