As a trusted supplier to more than 2,300 customers, we provide products and services for the entire end-to-end network, helping clients achieve significant capital and operational cost savings along the way.
Technetix now has over 200 employees and sells its products in 91 countries. We have operations in the US (with sites in both Colorado and North Carolina), the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, Kosovo, Romania and Taiwan. We also have sales offices in France, Portugal, Croatia, Germany, Norway, Denmark and Mexico. There are Product Management and R&D Departments in the US (Americas products), the UK (Connected Home products), the Netherlands (Headend and Access Network products) and Belgium (fiber products), there is also a quality engineering facility in Taiwan and factory-based quality-control engineers in Taiwan and China.
Technetix has contributed many important innovations to the broadband cable industry since its founding in 1990. We remain dynamic in anticipation of the exciting challenges ahead, and with our solid foundations, we have clear plans for continuing profitable growth.
1990 to 2003
Technetix was founded
Technetix was founded in March 1990 by our CEO Paul Broadhurst and initially focused on both cable and satellite television equipment. Quickly identifying the potential in the cable market, we soon demonstrated our key strengths by providing the market with customer-led innovations for the Headend, Access Network and in-home environments.
In 1996, Technetix had grown rapidly and had a revenue of £10m. We had also built a reputation for providing a wide range of technical solutions for all the major UK cable network operators.
Acquisition of Tele-Installs
We complemented our product range in 2000 by acquiring the UK company Tele-Installs; a manufacturer and distributor of cable television installation products. This acquisition also expanded our outsourced Far East manufacturing footprint and provided an added supply-chain service to the existing manufacturing business.
Office opened in Spain
During 2003, Technetix opened a sales office in Spain.
2005 to 2007
Acquisition of Tratec Telecom
In 2005, the acquisition of Netherlands-based company Tratec positioned Technetix as the leading European manufacturer of network final-mile products. This acquisition provided us with a wide-reaching European market and sales presence with additional offices in Poland, Denmark and France as well as the UK, Netherlands and Spain.
Acquisition of MTEC Broadband
During 2006, Technetix completed the acquisition of a Belgium-based provider of Headend and Access Network equipment, MTEC Broadband. This brought us the skillset to start servicing a broader range of requirements for the Access Network equipment market.
Offices opened in south east Europe and the US
We continued our international expansion through 2007 with the opening of a south east European sales office and warehouse in Pristina, Kosovo, to serve the Balkan region and a USA office in Denver, Colorado to serve the United States and Canadian markets.
Acquisition of Foentel Telecomunicaciones
Towards the end of 2007, we completed our acquisition of Foentel Telecomunicaciones, the leading Access Network and Connected Home supplier in Spain. This positioned Technetix as the leading supplier to the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
2011 to 2014
Warehouse and office opened in Ireland and growth in Spain
In 2011, Technetix opened an office and warehouse facility in Ireland and appointed a Sales Director in Portugal to exploit extensive market opportunities in that region.
Warehouse opened in Romania
In 2012, Technetix further expanded its European local presence with the opening of a warehouse in Timisoara, Romania. Later, the warehouse was relocated to Bucharest to better serve the Romanian market.
Warehouse opened in Hungary
In 2013, an additional depot was established in Budapest, serving the Hungarian market.
Netherlands office moves to Veeneendaal
In 2014, the company moved its Netherlands office to new purpose-built premises in Veenendaal. This provided expanded R&D facilities and additional warehouse capacity for the central European region.
Office opened in Taiwan
Also in 2014, Technetix established a quality engineering branch office in Nehu Science Park in Taipei, Taiwan. This improved product quality further and helped us to build closer relationships with our EMS manufacturing partners for the future. Towards the end of 2014, Technetix recruited dedicated country-based sales directors for Germany and Croatia..
2015 to present
In March 2015, Technetix celebrated 25 years in the broadband cable industry and relocated its UK head office and warehouse to attractive new premises in Albourne, West Sussex, England.
October 1st, 2015
Acquisition of Telewire Supplies
Technetix announced the acquisition of the assets of the ARRIS Supplies Division; formerly TeleWire Supplies and part of ARRIS Group, Inc.
Liberty Global partnership
In July 2016, Technetix received a £7.5 million strategic investment from Liberty Global Ventures, the global investment fund owned by major system operator Liberty Global. The investment has provided funding that assisted us in the expansion of our R&D resources, and gave us further market traction. This will also give Technetix the ability to pursue a broader range of business opportunities and to provide more of its unparalleled solutions to its customers.
Joined SCTE CAP program
In September 2016, Technetix joined the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Corporate Alliance Partnership (CAP) Program. Participation in this program demonstrates the increasing commitment by Technetix to the US cable television market, the advancement of broadband technology and the SCTE.
200,000th DBx unit delivered
Also in September 2016, Technetix reached a delivery milestone with the shipment of its 200,000th DBx modular access platform unit.
Office opened in Mexico
Technetix opened a new office in Mexico City
In February 2017, Technetix selected TELONIX Communications as its channel partner in Canada.
